  1. consolidate (verb) – strengthen, secure, reinforce/fortify.
  2. premier  (noun) – head of government, president, prime minister.
  3. ceremonial (adjective) – formal, official, public.
  4. empowerment (noun) – accreditation, authorization, validation.
  5. crusader (noun) – campaigner, fighter, champion/reformer.
  6. loom (verb) – be imminent, impend, be close.
  7. trim (verb) – reduce, remove, cut/decrease.
  8. debt (noun) – liability, financial obligation, borrowed capital.
