Today’s “Word of the Day” is “watered-down“ and it is an adjective meaning “diluted, altered, reduced, diminished, moderated (something to be less effective/forceful)”.
Example Sentence: As schools reopen, offering a few standardised “bridge” courses and “remedial classes” may seem like a facile antidote (easy remedy) to the months of lost formal learning. Resuming the teaching of “the syllabus” — even a watered down version — and pushing children through to the next grade means kicking the can down the road.
