Today’s “Word of the Day” is “portmanteau“ and it is a noun and its meaning is “it is formally known as a blend; it is a new word formed by blending/combining two or more words, or parts of words, that both help to bring about its meaning”.
Example Sentence: As the portmanteau suggests, Deltacron is a Covid variant that contains elements of Delta and Omicron – in other words, it contains genes from both variants, making it what is known as a recombinant virus.
