Today’s “Word of the Day” is “firefighting” and it is a noun meaning “an act of finding a solution to a problem after it has occurred, instead of avoiding it beforehand/strategically”.
Example Sentence: This would mean the reopening of schools, restaurants bars and gyms, and the return of live music festivals and sports events. Firefighting would still be needed for any outbreaks, but these could be localised and short.
