Today’s “Word of the Day” is “damp squib” and it is a noun meaning “something that doesn’t work properly, or fails to be as good as wanted or expected; fiasco, failure/blunder, catastrophe/disaster (‘damp squib’ literally means ‘wet firework’)“.
