Today’s “Word of the Day” is afoot and it is an adjective and its meaning is “happening, ongoing, underway, going on, in preparation, in progress, on the way, in the offing, in the pipeline”.

Example Sentence: The EU believes the carbon tax is compatible with World Trade Organization norms, but India is looking to challenge that… So, a threat of retaliatory tariffs on EU imports is also being weighed even as plans are afoot to quantify the various carbon taxes levied in India.
