  1. morality (noun) – ethics, rights and wrongs, correctness/propriety.
  2. imbroglio (noun) – confused/complicated situation; difficulty/predicament.
  3. indictment (noun) – a formal written accusation made by a grand jury and filed in court, alleging that a specific person has committed a specific crime; charge, accusation, allegation.

  37. rope in (verb) – to persuade somebody to join in an activity or to help to do something, even when they do not want to.
  38. defector (noun) – a person who abandons a cause or organization usually without right.
  39. besides (preposition) – except, except for, apart from, other than; moreover, furthermore.
  40. whip (noun) – a member of a political party who is in charge of providing that written notice is called as “Whip”. (it also means that “a written notice provided by the party (Whip) to their members in in Parliament/Legislative Assembly to vote to support the act/policy”).
  41. ought to (modal verb) – must, should.
  42. legislature (noun) – law-making body or governing body; parliament, congress, council, assembly.
  43. have a bearing on (phrase) – have a relevance, relation or connection to something; have an influence, impact or effect on something.

  50. Anti-defection law (noun) – The 10th Schedule to the Constitution, popularly referred to as the ‘Anti-Defection Law,’ was inserted by the 52nd Amendment in 1985. The grounds of disqualification are specified in Paragraph 2 of the 10th Schedule. A member would incur a disqualification under paragraph 2 (1) (a) when he “voluntarily gives up his membership of a party” and under 2 (1) (b) when he/she votes (or abstains from voting) contrary to the directive issued by the party.
