- crew (noun) – forces, personnel, employees, workforce, staff.
- grim (adjective) – distressing, upsetting, worrying, unpleasant, dismal/awful.
- footage (noun) – a part of video that’s been shot or recorded or videographed.
- Boeing (noun) – a US company that makes aircraft.
- slide (verb) – slip, skid, move smoothly.
- runway (noun) – a long, paved strip of an airport where aircraft take off and land; landing strip, airfield, airstrip for aircraft.
- fireball (noun) – a ball of fire, especially one associated with an explosion.
- extinguish (verb) – destroy, kill, eradicate, eliminate, end, put an end to.
- hold (verb) – have, possess.
- authorities (noun) – officials, officialdom, the people in charge, the bureaucracy.

- hurtle (verb) – move at high speed (in an uncontrolled way).
- fuselage (noun) – the (spindle-shaped) main body of an aircraft to which the wings (or rotors), tail, and engines are attached, and which accommodates the crews, passengers and cargo.
- house (verb) – contain, accommodate, hold.
- International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) (noun) – The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a United Nations agency which helps 193 countries to cooperate together and share their skies to their mutual benefit. The agency became a component of the Department of Transportation in 1967 pursuant to the Department of Transportation Act.
