  1. fast forward (verb) – move forward, proceed or progress rapidly; accelerate, speed.
  2. Gati Shakti National Master Plan (noun) – It is a ₹100 lakh crore national master plan for multi-modal connectivity that aims to develop infrastructure to reduce logistic costs and boost the economy. It is a campaign to lend more speed (Gati) and power (Shakti) to projects by connecting all concerned departments on one platform. This way, the infrastructure schemes of various ministries and state governments will be designed and executed with a common vision. 
  3. cut (verb) – reduce, decrease, lessen.
  4. logistics (noun) – the process of planning & executing a complex work (e.g. transporting goods).
  5. on board (phrase) – onto a team.
  6. expand on (verb) – elaborate on, add detail to, go into detail about.
  7. theme (noun) – subject matter, topic.
  8. renewed (adjective) – revived, re-established.
  9. momentum (noun) – driving power, strength, impetus.
  10. infrastructure (noun) – the basic physical or organisational structure for something (to function properly).

  17. umbrella (modifier) – something (coalition) that has many different parts/elements.
  18. National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) (noun) – a group of social and economic infrastructure projects in India over a period of five years with an initial sanctioned amount of more than ₹100 lakh crore. The pipeline was first made public by the Prime Minister of India during his 2019 Independence Day speech.
  19. multimodal (adjective) – multimode; involving more than one mode (method).
  20. freight (noun) – goods, cargo, load, consignment; transportation, transport, carrying, delivery.
  21. articulate (verb) – express, pronounce, state, point out.
  22. NITI Aayog (noun) – The National Institution for Transforming India, also called NITI Aayog, was formed via a resolution of the Union Cabinet on January 1, 2015. NITI Aayog is the premier policy ‘Think Tank’ of the Government of India, providing both directional and policy inputs. (Thinktank is a panel of experts who provide advice and ideas on political, social or economic issues).
  23. Gross domestic product (GDP) (noun) – a measure of economic activity in a country. It is the total value of a country’s annual output of goods and services.
  24. prevail (verb) – exist, be established, be present, be prevalent.
  25. aspirational (adjective)- ambitious, determined, aspiring; formidable, challenging.
  26. in order to (phrase) – with the purpose/aim of.

  28. extraordinarily (adverb) – extremely, unusually.
  29. fillip (noun) – stimulus, boost, incentive.
  30. cargo (noun) – goods, freight, consignment, shipment.
  31. vessel (noun) – ship, yacht, boat.
  32. turnaround (noun) – the time taken for unloading & reloading a ship, aircraft, or vehicle.
  33. evidently (adverb) – obviously, palpably, seemingly, apparently.
  34. cluster (noun) – a group (of people/things considered as a unit).
  35. corridor (noun) – a strip/swathe of land linking two areas (particularly by a road). 
  36. consensus (noun) – an idea or opinion that is shared by all the people in a group.
  37. Economic Survey (noun) – Economic Survey, presented in the Parliament ahead of the Union Budget, is the Ministry of Finance’s flagship document. The Economic Survey detailed information about the Indian economy over the past year. The Economic Survey also offers glimpses into the current state of the economy, and occasional insights into the economic outlook. Although the Constitution does not bind (impose a legal obligation on) the government to present the Economic Survey, over the years, it has become common practice for every government to present the Economic Survey before the Union Budget.

  52. environmental integrity (noun) – it refers to an undisturbed state of natural conditions.

  54. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (noun) – a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographical data. GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems and is a computer-based tool that examines spatial relationships, patterns, and trends in geography.
  55. remote sensing (noun) – the acquiring of information from a distance;  the process of detecting and monitoring the physical characteristics of an area by measuring its reflected and emitted radiation at a distance (typically from satellite or aircraft). 
  56. potential (adjective) – possible, likely, prospective, probable.
  57. subject to (adjective) – easily affected by, at risk of, wide open to, susceptible to.
  58. degradation (noun) – deterioration, degeneration, decay.
  59. rather than (phrase) – instead of.
  60. parcel (noun) – a piece of land.
  61. stand (verb) – be in a situation.
  62. social welfare (noun) – the range of assistance (government & private) programs designed to ensure the well being of a nation’s citizens, particularly poor or disadvantaged people.
  63. federal (adjective) – relating to a system of government in which establishments such as states or provinces share power with a national government.
  64. imperative (noun) – necessary condition, precondition, essential requirement.
