  1. dire (adjective) – dreadful, terrible, appalling, awful, woeful, shocking, serious.
  2. de-extinction (noun) – the process of re-creating an extinct organism using advanced scientific methods such as cloning, genome editing, or selective breeding (or) bringing animals back from extinction.
  3. extinction (noun) – destruction, elimination, eradication, removal (a complete one).
  4. conservation (noun) – the preservation, protection, and careful management of the natural environment and wildlife.
  5. resurrect (verb) – restore, revive, reinstitute, relaunch, rejuvenate, bring back, breathe new life into.
  6. credible (adjective) – acceptable, trustworthy, reliable, dependable; believable, plausible, reasonable.
  7. Colossal Biosciences (noun) – the world’s first de-extinction company founded by software entrepreneur Ben Lamm and geneticist-serial biotech entrepreneur George Church, Ph.D. and with its headquarters in Texas. The company works on genetic engineering and tech solutions with the goal of bringing back animals that have become extinct, such as the woolly mammoth and the dodo. Apart from de-extinction, Colossal aims to leverage its technology in order to preserve existing species and explore uses-cases in healthcare for humans.

  33. extract (verb) – to obtain something, especially with effort or force; remove, take out, pull out, draw out.
