13. owing to (phrase) – because of, as a result of, due to.
14. succumb (verb) – die from, die of, pass away as a result of.
15.  silver lining (noun) – consoling and hopeful aspect of a difficult/unpleasant situation.
16. plague (verb) – afflict, torment, trouble.
17. insecticide (noun) – substance used to kill insects.
18. swift (adjective) – fast, rapid, quick.
