- elite (noun) – high society people; the group of most powerful people in a society; best.
- G-7 or Group of Seven (noun) – a multilateral forum made up of the world’s seven largest so-called developed countries: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. They meet annually to discuss and exchange ideas on a broad range of issues, including global economy, security and energy.
- summit (noun) – meeting, conference, conclave (international meeting/conference of heads of state/government).
- presidency (noun) – premiership, leadership, chairmanship, stewardship.
- heft (noun) – influence, ability; weight/strength.
- invitee (noun) – guest, visitor.
- G-20 (noun) – The G20, formed in 1999, is a group of twenty of the world’s largest economies that meets regularly to coordinate global policy on trade, health, climate, and other issues. It brings together the world’s major advanced and emerging economies. The G20 comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, EU, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, UK and USA. The G20 Countries together represent around 90% of global GDP, 80% of global trade, and two thirds of the world’s population.

- energy security (noun) – the uninterrupted availability of energy sources at an affordable price. Energy security has many aspects: long-term energy security mainly deals with timely investments to supply energy in line with economic developments and environmental needs. On the other hand, short-term energy security focuses on the ability of the energy system to react promptly to sudden changes in the supply-demand balance.

- extend (verb) – offer, present, give, confer.
- address (verb) – to give a formal speech; speak to, talk to, give a talk to.
- tussle (noun) – clash, fight, conflict, confrontation, skirmish.
- at/in/to the forefront of (phrase) – be in a leading/front/important position in an important activity; spearhead, van guard, front line, leading position.
- forefront (noun) – fore, front, front line.
- debt (noun) – liability, financial obligation, borrowed capital.
- debt sustainability (noun) – a country’s public debt is considered sustainable if the government is able to meet all its current and future payment obligations without exceptional financial assistance or going into default.
- debt trap (noun) – a situation which causes a damaging cycle of borrowing when someone cannot repay their debts on schedule.
- supply chain (noun) – a dynamic network when a company purchases or uses goods or services from others. It involves people, information, processes, and resources involved in the production, handling, and distribution of materials and finished products or providing a service to the customer.
- spearhead (verb) – lead, head, be in the forefront of.
- infrastructure (noun) – the basic physical or organisational structure or framework that a country or organization needs in order to function properly. For a whole nation, it includes all the physical systems such as buildings, roads & railways networks, utilities, etc.
- aid (noun) – assistance, support, help, backing.
- Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) (noun) – The NPT is a landmark international treaty whose objective is to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and general and complete disarmament.
- regime (noun) – system.
- impeccable (adjective) – flawless, faultless, unblemished, spotless, perfect, picture-perfect, exemplary, ideal, model.
- restraint (noun) – self-control, self-restraint, constraint, control, restriction, limitation.
- nuclear proliferation (noun) – the spread of nuclear weapons, and, more generally, the spread of nuclear technology and knowledge that might be put to military use.
- non-proliferation (noun) – prevention of the spread of something (nuclear weapons, weapons technology & etc.).
- devastate (verb) – destroy, ruin, demolish, wreck.
- heavy lifting (noun) – difficult work.
- leave one’s mark (phrase) – to leave/have a lasting effect on something/someone.
- inclusive (adjective) – all-embracing, all-encompassing, across the board, all-inclusive.
