Word List-1 (To Improve English Vocabulary)
- taper (adjective) – relating to a gradual reduction.
- quantitative easing (noun) – it is an unconventional form of monetary policy where a Central Bank creates new money electronically to buy financial assets, like government bonds. The new money swells the size of bank reserves in the economy by the quantity of assets purchased—hence “quantitative” easing.
- unprecedented (adjective) – not done or experienced before.
- liquidity infusion (noun) – cash infusion/injection/introduction.
- in the wake of (phrase) – aftermath, as a consequence of, as a result of.
- walk the talk (phrase) – a person doing his actions in line with what he says. (not giving false promises).
- unwind (verb) – undo; ease up; to close a position with an offsetting trade.
- preclude (verb) – prevent, remove, obviate.
- taper tantrum (noun) – it is the term used to refer US Federal bank’s trimming of the amount of money it was feeding into the economy and which resulted sudden increase in its treasury.

- bode (well) (verb) – augur, portend, predict (a good outcome/result).
- current account deficit (noun) – The amount by which money relating to trade, investment etc going out of a country is more than the amount coming in.
