Phrase of the Day (down the line)-18FEB22

Today’s “Phrase of the Day” is “down the line” and its meaning is “in the future; at a later stage”.

Example Sentence: It was initially reported that a single shot provided great protection, although a booster could conceivably be suggested down the line. Then two shots became the standard to be “fully vaccinated.” Now, according to Anthony Fauci (Chief Medical Advisor to the President of United States), three shots will soon become a requirement for being considered “fully vaccinated”… There does not seem to be a clear end in sight for how many shots may ultimately be suggested.

This phrase is present in The Guardian article Why don’t some people want to get the vaccine? Here’s why and click here to read it.
