Today’s “Word of the Day” is snake-oil and it is a noun meaning “a fraudulent health product or unproven medicine which, in fact has no healing properties, is falsely promoted or claimed as a remedy/solution”.
Example Sentence: The novel coronavirus, however, has opened up an entirely different problem: the life-endangering consequences of supposed cures, misleading claims, snake-oil sales pitches and conspiracy theories about the outbreak.
