  1. stake (noun) – share, investment, interest.
  2. privatisation (noun) – transfer of a business, industry, or service from public to private ownership and control.
  3. foreign direct investment (FDI) (noun) – Investment from one country into another (normally by companies rather than governments) that involves establishing operations or acquiring tangible assets, including stakes in other businesses.
  4. lap (noun) – stage, phase, part.
  5. nod (noun) – a sign of acknowledgement.
  6. disinvestment (noun) – the process of reducing capital investments.
