Word of the Day (antithesis)-17MAR22

Today’s “Word of the Day” is antithesis and it is a noun meaning “opposite, direct opposite, converse, reverse, reversal, inverse”.

Example Sentence: Aggression (attack/invasion) is the anti-thesis of sovereign equity and collective security. Whatever may be the reason cited for the invasion, it does not wash Russia’s bloody hands in the Ukrainian crisis. The doctrine of sovereign equality enjoins (urges/encourages) states to honour the sovereignty (independence/self-rule), of fellow states. And the concept of collective security is a promise that the sovereignty of all states will be duly respected.
