Today’s “Phrase of the Day” is “take for granted“ and it is a phrase meaning “assume, presume, suppose, accept, believe (something is true without cross-questioning it); For example, if people take something for granted, they do not place much value on it. Or you believe it to be true, real or expected”.
Example Sentence: The pandemic has been awash with slogans, but in recent weeks, two have been repeated with increasing frequency: “Variants will evolve to be milder” and “Covid will become endemic”. Yet experts warn that neither of these things can be taken for granted.
