Today’s word list-1 for The Hindu Editorial (Transmission troubles) – Jun 21, 2018: 

  1. foot (verb) – pay, pay out, settle up.
  2. statement of intent (noun) – someone’s goal (likely to be achieved in the future).
  3. monetary transmission (noun) – it refers to the process by which a central bank’s monetary policy decisions are passed on, through financial markets, to businesses and households. In short, It is the pass-through of the RBI’s rate actions to the economy at large.
