- strategic partnership (noun) – it is a long-term interaction between two countries based on political, economic, social and historical factors.

- overdue (adjective) – pending, behind schedule, not on time, long-delayed, delayed, belated.
- given (preposition) – considering, taking into account, bearing in mind.
- treaty (noun) – agreement, accord, protocol, pact, deal.
- Suez Crisis (1956) (noun) – In late 1956, Britain along with France and Israel invaded Egypt to recover control of the Suez Canal after Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser (1918-70) nationalized the canal. The Suez Canal is an important man-made waterway in Egypt. It connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.

- The Order of The Nile (noun) – it is Egypt’s highest State Honour. Instituted in 1915, the ‘Order of the Nile’ is conferred upon Heads of states, Crown Princes, and Vice-Presidents who offer Egypt or humanity invaluable services.

- G-20 (noun) – The G20, formed in 1999, is a group of twenty of the world’s largest economies that meets regularly to coordinate global policy on trade, health, climate, and other issues. It brings together the world’s major advanced and emerging economies. The G20 comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, EU, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, UK and USA. The G20 Countries together represent around 90% of global GDP, 80% of global trade, and two thirds of the world’s population.

On the other hand, short-term energy security focuses on the ability of the energy system to react promptly to sudden changes in the supply-demand balance.

- The Global South (noun) – the poor developing countries (of Asia, Africa, South America, amongst others).
- The Global North (noun) – the economically developed countries (of Europe, North America, Australia, amongst others).
- The African Union (AU) (noun) – it is a continental body consisting of the 55 member states that make up the countries of the African Continent. It was officially launched in 2002 as a successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU, 1963-1999).
- New Development Bank (noun) – Established in 2015 by BRICS countries, the New Development Bank is a multilateral development bank aimed at mobilising resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in BRICS and other (emerging markets and developing countries) EMDCs.
- BRICS countries (plural noun) – the acronym coined to associate five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The BRICS members are known for their significant influence on regional affairs.
- keen on (adjective) – enthusiastic about, interested in, passionate about, fascinated by.
- deliberate (verb) – think about, consider, discuss, contemplate, ponder.
- seek (verb) – ask for, request, appeal.
- bolster (verb) – strengthen, support, make stronger, reinforce, buttress.
