Today’s “Phrase of the Day” is “work one’s ass/butt off“ and its meaning is “to work very hard; toil, labour, exert oneself“.
Example Sentence: Novak Djokovic was asked whether he feels the pressure from the young generation, most of whom are taller and more physically imposing than him. He responded with a shrug….. “I’m not going to stand here and hand it over to them. I’m going to make them work their ass off for it”.
