Today’s “Phrase of the Day” is “run rings round someone” and it’s meaning is “outclass, overshadow, outdo, beat, outplay, outperform”
Example Sentence: Having run rings around Trump, Vladimir Putin may treat the experienced Biden more circumspectly (carefully). But he will not be more respectful, judging by last week’s insultingly tardy (delayed) message of election congratulations. His offer to work together was more mail gauntlet (an armoured glove covered with strong chainmail for protection usually worn by men fighting on foot) than olive branch (an offer of peace).
