Today’s “Word of the Day” is  balk (at) and it is a verb meaning “be unwilling to, be reluctant to, refuse to (do/accept something, because it is difficult, threatening, unpleasant, etc,.)”.

Example Sentence: Centuries of environmental exploitation have put us in a fragile position on this planet.
